St. Albans now has two road closure schemes for residents to use on their own street. You can apply to Herts County Council to close your road for one street party a year. You can also apply to St. Albans District Council’s Playing Out scheme for short, low- key road closures for children’s play and neighbourly chat. Both schemes are free to residents. One community group can support you with either of these road closure types. Sustainable St. Albans’ Meet Your Neighbours projects are here to help you get your neighbours together this year! We o"er free loans of road closed signs, template letters to neighbours, help with council application forms and more. We also run free information sessions both online and in person – the next ones are in April, May and June. Join the dozens of streets across St. Albans that are enjoying tra#c-free get-togethers, building strong, close-knit communities. Create a space outside your front door for children to play and run.
