5 www.sandridge-pc.gov.uk St. Leonard’s Church Lychgate We have received the good news that the War Memorials Trust has made an o!er of a grant of £5,450 to the church, and the Parish Council have also provided a grant of £5,000 towards restoration of this 100 year-old Lychgate. Wild Flower Initiative I mentioned this in my last report and, since then, a number of sites have been seeded and grown into "owers all across the parish, and they have looked spectacular in their prime. Another thank you to all those involved in this initiative. Planning On a more serious note, your council continues to scrutinise all the plans submitted to the District Council which fall within Sandridge Parish. We are mindful of the need that any objections we might wish to make should be based around the planning rules and, in particular, how they comply with the requirements of the Sandridge Neighbour- hood Plan. The latter is frequently cited when we lodge an objection. The council has an appointed Planning Committee which meets every three weeks throughout the year in order to ensure that we do not miss the closing date for comments on any application. We will continue in our e!orts to retain the open character of Sandridge Parish, with particular reference to maintaining the green belt. Website Coming soon is a new, modern, up-to-date and user-friendly website which should go live in October. It should also link into the council’s Instagram and Facebook pages, so keep an eye out for this exciting advance for the Council. AUTUMN 2023
