Julie went to University in London. After graduating, she headed up graphics departments in several London companies before moving to St Albans in 1989 to raise a family. For the last 23 years she has lived in Sandridge.
Her four children have attended STAGS, Verulam, Sandringham and Beaumont schools.
For 35 years she has been running a graphic design, marketing and editing business from her home-based studio. Clients have included multinational organisations together with businesses and charities local to St Albans.
She is particularly interested in the urban environment and is a member of both the planning committee and the Jersey Farm Woodland Park committee.
In her spare time, Julie has enjoyed long walks in Heartwood Forest, singing in a choir, membership of book groups, volunteering for the Hospice of St Francis and helping to found Urban Sketchers a global community of sketchers dedicated to the practice of on-location drawing.

I moved to the Marshalswick area from the North West in 2012 and was keen to get to know people and be involved in the local community. I joined some Neighbourhood Plan working groups back in 2014 and stayed involved till the Plan was passed by referendum in 2021. I was particularly interested in sustainable travel issues including traffic congestion, local bus services and walking, cycling and recreational travel. Linked with these concerns, I was also a longstanding member of the Parish Environmental Assets and Paths (PEAP) Committee until my election as a Parish Councillor, with a particular interest in preserving public rights of way.
I hope to be able to use some of this experience in the interests of local residents in my time on the Parish Council. In my spare time, I am a keen gardener, enjoy walking and wine tasting.

I am a newly appointed Councillor for Sandridge Parish and have lived in the area for over 40 years and love it.
Before retiring I worked in a school for 11 years and then became self employed doing book keeping and garden design and maintenance.
I now help maintain the Community garden at the Quadrant and volunteer at the Wick Nature Reserve and am involved with Jersey Farm Woodland Park.
One of my ambitions as a Councillor is to get more trees planted in our grass verges. Away from the Parish I do various volunteer roles at the Olympic Park, The Globe, The Tower of London and Saracens Rugby. This allows me to get out and about meeting new people and give support to these great places.

I have lived in Marshalswick for over 25 years. I used to commute into London on a regular basis, cycling to the station most days. In 2016 I ceased commuting and in 2017 was elected as County Councillor for the division of Colney Heath and Marshalswick. The division covers most of the parish. I am a member of the Liberal Democrats.
I have been a Parish Councillor since 2007 and have served as Chair of the Parish Council at various times since.
My main interests relate to the environment. I am a keen gardener, when time permits; an advocate for planting trees in our neighbourhood and for reducing air pollution. I continue to cycle and walk whenever possible.
I campaign against further expansion of London Luton Airport and chair St Albans Quieter Skies.

I have lived in the parish since 2010, and together with my husband we have two lively and sporty children, who both attend local schools.
I have been an active volunteer in many community organisations over the years and am currently involved in my son’s grassroots football club, as a club safeguarding officer, and a local residents association, in addition to being a parish councillor.
Giving back to my community is really important to me and I will always ensure, we as a parish council, do the best for our local community.

I am a retired gentleman and I have lived and made my home in Marshalswick, St Albans since 2017. I have strong ties to the area and I felt I would like to contribute to my local community by representing people on the council and assisting the council in the execution of its duties and in supporting progressive ideas for the benefit of all.
My background; before retirement; was working as a mathematician, in my early years, followed by many years researching in the Gas and Telecommunications industries. I worked in advisory and Managerial roles; with responsibility for technical projects, budgets and people.
My spare time was consumed with a passion of Alpine skiing, hiking and playing sports; Tennis, Squash and football. Alas, most of these high energy pastimes have retired with me and I am now a passive observer, a mere spectator. However, a good walk around the surrounding countryside of St Albans is still a pleasure to enjoy.
I have an interest in people and the effects of their surroundings on their wellbeing; I have a strong sense of fair play. I love the Green Spaces of St Albans and the surrounding countryside. I also work as a volunteer in the local community garden in Marshalswick.

I grew up in the South of England, mostly in Kent. My wife and I met in 2009 before moving to Jersey Farm in 2014. We moved primarily for my work, which is based over in Ware, although since the pandemic, working from home on multiple days a week means that I do still spend a chunk of the working week in the Parish. We have three young children, all now attending our brilliant local schools, and the latest addition to our family is Penny the Puggle, who adores being taken for walks in the wonderful green spaces that we are lucky enough to have here on our doorstep. Both inside and outside of work, I have a keen interest in all things sustainability, and to relax, I enjoy playing with our children as well as going to gigs, both comedy and music.
Having only recently joined the Parish Council, I’m still very much learning the ropes, but I hope to be able to make some positive contributions to our Parish, particularly as regards the local playgrounds and topics relating to sustainability. It’s great to be able to learn from some of the more experienced members of the Council, and at the same time, it feels good being part of the new influx of Councillors who are all as excited as I am to make an impact.

As a lifelong resident of the area, I am keen to improve the green spaces within the Sandridge Parish Council, and support the enhancement of the facilities that the Council provides. My personal interests include walking, cycle touring, campervanning and travelling abroad. I also enjoy DIY projects, using the skills I learnt as an apprentice from a long time ago. I am married with 3 adult children, having retired from my career in telecoms during which I gained an MBA through part-time study.

I have lived on Jersey Farm since 1979. On retirement from the NHS I have been able to become involved in local life. This includes Sandridge WI, St Leonard’s Church Sandridge, the costume team of St Albans Scouts and Guides award winning Gangshow and for the last 8 years an independent Sandridge Parish Councillor.
By belonging to these local organisations I have been able to develop my skills in flower arranging (at St Leonards Church), learnt to crochet sufficiently to be able to make amongst other items a postbox topper for the Sandridge postbox (in WI).
My sewing skills for the Gangshow costume team have included putting elastic through lots of trouser waists, sewing brass buttons and fringing on jackets to making headdresses to look like roses. All great fun.
My time spent on the Parish Council has equally been busy and interesting. I have served on many committees and currently chair the Jersey Farm Woodland Park Committee. I have also been involved in the organising with other Councillors and officers summer events held on JFWP the most recent being the successful celebration for Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee.
The most enjoyable part of all the local things I do is meeting people and being part of a team.
